Helping Hands Pantry serves approximately 900 needy families in Pasco County by providing free food on a weekly basis. We distributed over 497,276 lbs of food in 2018.
Many pantries hand out bags of food which may not meet the needs of the recipients. We allow families the dignity to choose from among all food group types to help assure our food goes for nourishment and not to the trash.
We provide service opportunities for community members looking to help when they can. Our volunteers do a great job and can be found working 5 days a week in various activities to help us prepare for our Wednesday distributions. No one associated with the Pantry receives payment for services, but we all receive thanks and love from our recipients.
I encourage you to contact us to see how you can help either through a donation of your time or money. We need your donations and 100% goes to the operation of the pantry. The Church provides us with free rent and some volunteers, but we are dependent on community members for donations to keep our pantry operating.
